The Journey

When should I arrive in Scotland?

Guests should arrive at Glasgow International Airport no later than 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 21, 2027.

A private coach will depart Glasgow Airport for Glenapp Castle at 3:00 PM. Please allow plenty of time for immigration, baggage collection, and possible travel delays.

Guests traveling overnight from the United States will generally need to depart by October 20. Arriving in Glasgow the evening before is also encouraged.

Which airport should I use?

Please fly into Glasgow International Airport, airport code GLA.

The scheduled group transportation will collect guests from this airport only.

Will transportation be provided?

Yes. A private coach will depart Glasgow International Airport for Glenapp Castle at 3:00 PM on October 21.

A return coach will leave Glenapp Castle around midday on October 25. Guests should plan to book evening departures from Glasgow Airport.

Exact coach meeting points and departure times will be confirmed closer to the wedding.

Do I need a passport?

Yes. Every guest traveling internationally must secure a valid passport and satisfy all United Kingdom entry requirements.

Every guest will also be responsible for obtaining a United Kingdom Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) VISA prior to travel. The form only takes a few minutes and can be found on our resources page.

Life at the Castle

Should I reserve my own room?

No. Glenapp Castle has been reserved exclusively for our wedding guests from October 21 through October 25.

Rooms will be assigned after all RSVPs have been received. Glenapp Castle will receive the final rooming list in advance, and guests will be informed of their assignments before the wedding weekend.

Please do not contact the castle to make an individual room reservation.

What expenses are covered?

The bride and groom will provide:

  • Accommodations at Glenapp Castle
  • Breakfast each morning
  • Dinner each evening
  • Scheduled transportation to and from Glasgow Airport
  • Alcohol during the wedding celebration on October 23

Guests are responsible for flights, lunches, alcohol outside the wedding day, personal purchases, incidentals, and individually selected activities or excursions.

Are activities and excursions included?

Optional activities and excursions will be booked and paid for individually by each guest.

Should the couple arrange a hosted group experience, those details will be shared separately.

Will lunch be provided?

Breakfast and dinner will be provided each day. Lunches are not included and will be purchased individually.

Will there be internet and mobile service?

Wi-Fi will be available at the castle. Mobile service may vary by provider, so guests may wish to enable international service or Wi-Fi calling before traveling.

The Celebration

When is the wedding?

The wedding will take place during the afternoon of Saturday, October 23, 2027, with cocktails, dinner, dancing, and celebration continuing into the evening.

Exact event times will be shared as the wedding approaches.

Will the ceremony be indoors or outdoors?

The ceremony is planned for outdoors, weather permitting.

Should Scottish weather intervene, the ceremony will move into Glenapp Castle’s Victorian glasshouse. Other events throughout the weekend will take place both indoors and outdoors.

What should I wear to the wedding?

Formal attire is requested for the wedding. Formal dresses, gowns, and suits are welcome.

As the ceremony may take place outdoors, please choose footwear that can comfortably navigate grass, gravel, and garden paths. Warm layers are strongly encouraged.

What should I wear during the rest of the weekend?

Refined attire is encouraged for evening dinners at the castle. Please see our "the vibes" page to learn more.

Smart-casual clothing is perfect for breakfast, exploring, and relaxing during the day in the castle commons. Please see our "the vibes" page to learn more.

Is the ceremony unplugged?

Yes. We ask that all phones, personal cameras, and recording devices remain completely put away throughout the ceremony.

Disposable cameras will be provided for guests to enjoy during the rest of the celebration, but they must also remain unused during the ceremony.

What will the weather be like?

Late October in Scotland is often cool, damp, and beautifully unpredictable.

Please prepare for changing conditions by packing warm layers, rain protection, and sturdy footwear suitable for gardens and countryside.

Invitations & Attendance

How should we complete the RSVP?

Every individual guest must complete a separate RSVP.

This includes married couples, partners, family members, and guests who received one shared invitation. Even when two people appear on the same invitation, each person must submit an individual response.

Please submit all responses by January 31, 2027.

Can I bring a plus one?

Due to the intimate nature of the celebration and the limited number of rooms at Glenapp Castle, plus ones are considered individually.

Please do not make travel arrangements for an additional guest without approval from the couple. Contact the bride directly to discuss your invitation.

Can children attend?

No. This will be an adults-only wedding weekend.

Can dietary restrictions be accommodated?

Yes. Each guest will be asked to provide any food allergies, dietary restrictions, and meal requirements on their individual RSVP form.

Is Glenapp Castle accessible?

Guests with accessibility or mobility needs should contact us at bauerboundwedding@gmail.com as early as possible.

We will coordinate directly with Glenapp Castle to make appropriate arrangements.

Are gifts expected?

No. Your journey to Scotland and your presence at our wedding are the only gifts we could ask for.

Please do not bring or send a wedding gift.
